Research

I am a Physical Oceanographer and Associate Professor at the University of the Aegean, specializing in Physical Oceanography with an emphasis on numerical simulations of marine circulation. My research experience encompasses a broad range of topics, including physical oceanography, hydrodynamic circulation modeling, operational oceanography, measurements of physical parameters and currents in the marine environment, Lagrangian experiments using drifting buoys (drifters) for tracking brackish waters and pollutants, storm surge dynamics, coastal zone management, coastal engineering, and the impacts of climate change on marine systems. In addition, I have extensive experience in field measurements and observational oceanography, having participated in a large number of scientific surveys and measurement campaigns in both coastal and open-sea environments. My publication record includes 52 papers in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, more than 100 presentations at national and international scientific conferences, and 7 contributions to book chapters.

Teaching

My teaching duties in the Department of Marine Sciences of the University of the Aegean include the following courses: Dynamical Oceanography, Mathematics, and Extreme Weather and Ocean Hazards.
